So, the thought of connecting my phone to the TV came up using Bluetooth. The answer to the question “How to Connect Phone to TV using Bluetooth?” lies in the Bluetooth compatibility of the TV.

What method do you intend to use to accomplish your goal of connecting the tv with the phone? The most viable way that I usually use my phone to connect to the TV is using it as a Remote for Android TV. In this article, I will discuss the different ways to connect your phone to a TV. 

How to connect phone to tv using Bluetooth without WiFi?

I haven’t seen people using Bluetooth as the primary source of playing content on the TV. It is unlikely that you will be able to cast your screen to your TV via Bluetooth if you try to cast content.

Connect Phone to TV using Bluetooth as a Remote 

If it comes to connecting smartphones to the TV as a remote that helps control different functions, then you need to follow a series of steps. The steps include:

  • Enabling Bluetooth on your phone in the settings. 
  • Download the Android Tv Remote Control App on your smartphone.
  • After that, open the Android TV Remote Control app, and discover the new devices.
  • Now tap the name of your Android TV and pair it. 
  • You can use your phone as a universal remote to control different TV functions.

Connect Phone to TV using Bluetooth as an Accessory  

When connecting smartphones to the TV, the most viable way is to use the mobile phone as a speaker. To complete the process, you must turn on your mobile phone and TV Bluetooth to complete the process.

Now to add the smartphone as an accessory, you need to go to the settings and search for new devices or accessories. Then, select your phone as an accessory, and it is ready to work as a speaker.  

How to connect phone to tv using Bluetooth Samsung?

It usually takes these steps for my Samsung TV to connect with my smartphone. The steps and instructions are as follows.

  • Turn on the Bluetooth settings of the phone and make it discoverable.
  • Now go to the Samsung TV settings and look for the External Device manager.
  • Then go to the Input device manager and look for Bluetooth Devices.
  • Search for your smartphone to pair it with a TV.
  • Follow the onscreen instructions, and you are done.
  • Now you can play songs or watch movies while your smartphone is acting as an accessory/ remote control.

How to Connect Android Phone to Normal TV?

The problem is that TVs are usually not Bluetooth-compatible, so I use these methods when connecting my phone with my TV.

Casting/ Chromecast  

Of all the methods, I prefer the casting method that is undoubtedly one. The casting method occurs almost exclusively via WiFi on smart TVs and is one of the quick approaches to connecting. My LG TV and smartphone support casting feature, and I use this feature to watch content wirelessly, or you can buy a separate Chromecast device. 

After connecting both devices with the same WiFi, turn on the casting feature from the settings, and you will be able to connect wireless. In addition, you can also transfer different files and images and enjoy Netflix through the casting feature.  

Miracast 

The other direct WiFi connectivity method is the Miracast which allows you to connect your smartphone to the tv wirelessly. You need to check the compatibility of both devices and enable this feature. After that, cast on your mobile phone to directly connect to your smart tv. 

Tip: Download the AirCast App while casting on iPhone.

HDMI to USB-C Adapter

You can use the HDMI to USB-C adapter that helps you connect your phone with the smartphone. In this scenario, the process starts with connecting one side of the HDMI to the TV. Connect another side to the connector to build the connection. 

AirPlay

If you are using Apple iPhone and Apple Smart TV, you can connect your smartphone with AirPlay. Turning on the AirPlay option on both devices will enable using the same WiFi network to make a connection to transfer images and files.

You can now control LG Smart TVs via Magic Mobile using Bluetooth and Miracast or share content from a mobile device directly on the TV using LG Smart TVs and Magic Mobile.

With an LG Smart TV, I can connect my smartphone through the Miracast technique, which produces the exact content on the TV. To mirror, you need to connect both devices with the Direct WiFi network. 

Find the miracast option in the settings and enable it. It will allow you to cast the content wirelessly. Now go to the settings and turn on the casting option of the mobile phone. After that, find your TV, and you are good to go.

In recent years, the market has flooded with numerous new features with the latest models of TVs and smartphones. Bluetooth functionality is getting better and more reliable with time, and in the future, we will be able to cast the content from phone to tv using Bluetooth. On the other hand, the connectivity of phones and TV is as simple as two phones, but the functionalities are limited.
